If you would like to help a kid in the Masese 3 slum, I would be happy to help you connect with such a kid. Below you can find descriptions of some of the kids from my neighborhood, and a little information on their most immediate needs and their
ambitions for the future. If you send items to the kids through me, I'll make sure they get them, and document the handover with pictures.
Hellen Naduk wants to study computer science
Hellen Naduk, was born on 25th. July 2010. She was studying in P3 before her father got sick. He has been in a critical condition for almost 2 years now, and because of his illness and the Corona pandemic, Hellen is currently not attending school.
Achia Augustine wants to become a medical doctor
Achia Augustine was born on 2nd. November 2012. He is Hellen Naduk´s brother, and lives with their parents and 3 other siblings in the slums of Budumbuli in West Bugembe.
Luomo Caroline Laura wants to be a chemist
Luomo Caroline Laura was born on 28th. November 2014, and is Hellen's and Achia's sister. Their father had a simple hawker business before he got sick, and now the whole family relies on what the mother can earn by picking and sorting beans and nuts from the streets of Jinja town.
Jessica wants to be a medical nurse
Epur Jessica, born on 25.07.2011 by a single mother of 6. They were dropped by their father when Jessica was 6 years old. She stays with her single mother who goes to the streets of Jinja, to sort beans and sometimes picking to earn a living.
Esther also wants to be a medical nurse
Abura Esther was born on 13.10. 2014, and is one of Jessica'a siblings. Esther is interested in studying and want to become a medical nurse like her older sister.
Sarah, a future computer engineer ?
Angella Sarah is also Jessica's sister, and together with their mother and 3 other siblings, they all live in the Masese 3 slum area in Jinja.
Salume wants to be a computer engineer
Ilukol Salume was born in 2016 and stays with her single mother in the Masese-3 slum. Her mother goes to the streets of Jinja to sort out groundnuts and beans to earn a living. The father cannot care for the family at all and has left them.
Esceza wants to be a medical nurse
Lotin Esceza was born on 01.Nov.2012. Her parents
Angella Alice and Longok Abraham have 5 children. The Mother goes to the streets of Jinja to sort out beans and sometimes pick some food to earn a living.
Esther also wants to be a medical nurse
Napeyok Esther is the twin sister of Esceza Lotin. Their father struggles to support the family through his simple business as hawker, so the family cannot afford school fees, unioforms etc. for the twins.

Moses Lochoro, born to the family of late John Otim and Alice Kotol in a family of six.
Born in 2006, 17. August .
Lives with his aunt in the Masese slum, together with his siblings Elizabeth Lotin and Richard Kolibi.
Moses is in primary four.

Joseph Amin, has stayed with his mother in the slum since his father left them.
Joseph was 6 years old when this was written (April 16. 2021).
He is interested instudying and has a dream of becoming an airline pilot.

He is still to young to go to school, but already dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer.

Kodet John Mark, lives with his mother in the Masese slum. His father passed away 3 years ago.
Mark was 7 years old when this was written (april 21. 2021).
Mark helps his mother to support the family, by collecting recyclable materials from the streets and dump sites in Jinja.
He is interested in studying, and dreams of becoming a carpenter.

Jonathan Lokiru lives with his mother in the Masese slum. His father committed suicide after being diagnosed with HIV.
Jonathan was 8 when this was written (April 21. 2021), and struggles alongside with his mother and 4 siblings.
Jonathan collects recyclables from the streets and dump sites of Jinja - but he is interested in studying and dreams of becoming a teacher.
Lost her smile
Recheal Logil's parents died in a cattle raid agaist the village where they lived - so now she lives with her aunt in the Masese slum.
Recheal was 6 years old when this picture was taken in April 2021.
She would very much like to go to school, and wants to become a nurse.
